On a windswept headland, the plan turns its back to the south-west and opens every principal room north over the water. A masonry base shelters entry and service courtyards; above it, a timber-framed living bar watches the horizon.

The engineering brief was written for exposure — rated mesh, storm-tested glazing, no gutters on the seaward face. From inside, the weather is something watched rather than endured.
